An effective case handling process that upholds independence, neutrality and impartiality.
At CRU Indonesia, we are committed to developing and promoting the design of conflict case handling processes that are truly independent, impartial and focused solely on resolving the parties’ problems. We prioritize the values of independence, neutrality and impartiality as well as reachability in conflict-prone areas for the effectiveness of the conflict handling process.
Since the CRU Indonesia initiative – as a project – was established, we have continued to develop and expand our portfolio in mediating land and natural resource conflicts in Indonesia. From 2016 to 2020, CRU handled 56 conflict cases in various locations, resolving 23 cases with peaceful agreements, involving village communities, farmer organizations, indigenous peoples, and companies. CRU Indonesia’s conflict management design stems from an effort to contribute to national efforts to gain greater clarity on land rights and ensure sustainable land management in times of conflict.
To ensure its independence, neutrality and impartiality, CRU Indonesia’s case handling efforts utilize diverse funding sources, one of which is independent and sustainable financing in the form of investment returns from trust fund management.
