If the main issue of a conflict is identified as stemming from a collision between different policies, then one alternative that could be considered is initiating a policy mediation process.
We encourage the organization of policy discussions as part of efforts to address sustainable land and natural resource conflicts in Indonesia. Especially since many conflicts over land and natural resources in Indonesia stem from a collision of policies.
As part of such policy outreach efforts, we promote conflict-sensitive approaches to stakeholders for land- and natural resource-based development and investment planning. The aim is to foster and expand conflict awareness to stakeholders and the public at large.
This program is related to knowledge management in terms of policy studies to produce policy briefs and recommendations related to land and natural resources. The policy briefs and recommendations are delivered through coordination, communication and cooperation with policy makers in relevant government ministries/agencies.
