Shanghai – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Roberta Chang as a partner in the firm’s tax practice. Ms. Chang joins the firm’s Shanghai office from Hogan Lovells, where she was a partner and the head of its China tax group.

Ms. Chang has extensive experience handling tax advisory and controversy work, specifically advising multinational companies on cross-border tax issues in acquisitions and joint ventures, corporate restructurings, financings, and dissolutions. She also counsels on specific direct and indirect tax, transfer pricing, and compliance matters, as well as on tax considerations in administrative law controversies and appeal cases.

Ms. Chang is adept in navigating complex domestic and international tax laws. She regularly works with clients to develop tax efficient strategies for their investments into and from China and the Asia region. She also works with high net-worth families with respect to international tax and estate planning and with NGOs.

“We are thrilled to have Roberta join us,” said David Tang, Managing Partner, Asia. “Her understanding of the business and legal complexities of international taxation coupled with her robust experience in helping multinational clients develop sophisticated tax strategies for cross-border operations and transactions will significantly enhance our regional service offerings.”

The arrival of Ms. Chang follows the additions of international tax partners Mitchell Weiss and Balazs Danko in Chicago and Randy J. Clark in Charlotte. They are among the more than 65 partners who have joined the firm since January 2020.
