K&L Gates Expands Asset Management and Investigations Practices with London Partner Additions
16 Maret 2021London – Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes Daniel Greenaway as a partner in the asset management and investment funds practice and Michael Ruck as a partner in the investigations, enforcement and white collar practice. They join K&L Gates’ London office from Mishcon de Reya LLP and TLT LLP, respectively.
Previously head of the funds group at Mishcon de Reya, Greenaway concentrates his practice on launching funds and investment platforms for clients that raise capital across a global, primarily institutional, investor base. He has extensive experience advising institutional and boutique fund managers on private funds across private equity, venture capital, credit, infrastructure, and real estate. In addition, Greenaway counsels clients on co-investment funds, carried interest plans, and secondary transactions.
“I’m delighted to become a member of K&L Gates’ leading asset management and investment funds practice,” said Greenaway. “The global reach of both the practice and the firm’s broader platform provide many exciting opportunities for me and the funds clients I represent.”
Ruck focuses his practice on financial services investigations and regulations, including advisory, regulatory liaison, and large-scale, complex, multi-jurisdictional investigations. Throughout his career, including previously working in the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Enforcement Division, he has led financial services regulatory projects, investigations, and proceedings for a range of institutions, including asset and fund managers, insurance businesses, and banks, as well as counseled clients in matters involving national and international regulating agencies, such as the FCA, Serious Fraud Office (SFO), Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Ruck commented: “I am excited to join K&L Gates’ investigations, enforcement, and white collar practice in London, and look forward to assisting and collaborating with colleagues across the firm’s global platform in our work with a broad array of financial services companies and regulating agencies.”
The arrival of Greenaway and Ruck follows the addition of energy partner Ben Holland to K&L Gates’ London office last week. The firm has welcomed nearly 60 partners and of counsel since the beginning of 2020, including in the firm’s corporate; health care; tax; commercial litigation; energy, infrastructure and resources; environment, land and natural resources; asset management and investment funds; IP procurement and portfolio management; IP litigation; real estate; government contracts; and investigations, enforcement and white collar practices.
“Deepening and developing the connections between the financial services capability and all of our disciplines in London in order to provide holistic solutions to clients is a key part of our strategy,” stated Tony Griffiths, K&L Gates’ managing partner for Europe and the Middle East. “Daniel’s private equity fund origination practice connects our funds, corporate, real estate, infrastructure, and finance practices seamlessly. Michael’s extensive background in financial services investigations, compliance, and defense work connects the white collar and investigations capability with our funds, corporate, financial services, and finance practices. Daniel and Michael joining us marks another important step in the continued development of our synchronized multi-disciplinary client service approach. We are delighted to welcome them to K&L Gates.”
