23 November 2024Global law firm K&L Gates has been named a 2024 Pro Bono Innovator by Bloomberg Law. Each year, Pro Bono Innovators honors a small group of law firms and other legal service providers that go above and beyond in delivering pro bono legal services. The editors note that “the firm also is honored for incorporating human-rights related elements in The Gambia’s model bilateral investment treaty, in collaboration with two other organizations.”

The projects described in the Bloomberg recognition are examples of the firm using its global platform and substantive experience to address significant challenges in new and meaningful ways. The firm has also been innovative in efforts that involve increasing access to justice through the responsible use of artificial intelligence, establishing and running a Cyber Civil Rights Legal Project that helps victims of revenge porn, and harnessing its global resources for initiatives that combat human trafficking and promote equal justice.
